National Park City is a global movement managed by the National Park City Foundation, a charity established to bring the concept of National Park Cities to life internationally.
The National Park City Foundation was formed several years ago when communities in London, Adelaide and across the world came together to explore ideas to improve the future of cities. ,London became the first National Park City in the world in 2019.
The Foundation created a National Park City Journey Book to guide cities in joining the National Park City Family.
Adelaide became the second city in the world to gain the status in 2021.
Many more cities around the world are embarking on their journey to become National Park Cities, from Breda and Amsterdam in the Netherlands to Galway in Ireland, Glasgow in Scotland, Southampton in England and Chattanooga in the USA.
Adelaide is a key participant in the global conversation with the Foundation and other cities looking to achieve the status. We support other cities by sharing our journey with them, and we’re a proud mentor for Chattanooga.
You can join the global discussion through the National Park City Foundation and get in touch to talk about how Adelaide can support your city's journey.
